Route: Rajkot, Bagodara, Vadodara, Dabhoi, Statue of Unity.

The Statue of Unity at Kevadia is 330 km from Rajkot — the tallest statue in the world at 182 metres, standing over the Narmada with the Satpura and Vindhya ranges behind it. The drive is about six hours, most of it on good highway through Bagodara and Vadodara before the final run into the Narmada district.

It has become far more than the statue. There is a jungle safari, a cactus garden, a children’s nutrition park, the Valley of Flowers along the river and a nightly laser show projected onto the statue itself. Families who plan for two hours end up staying most of a day, so it is worth deciding in advance how much you want to see.

What to see on the Rajkot to Statue of Unity route

  1. 01

    The viewing gallery

A lift to 153 metres, inside the statue’s chest, looking out over the Sardar Sarovar dam. Book the slot online in advance — it sells out.

  2. 02

    Valley of Flowers

Seventeen hectares of planted riverbank below the statue. Best in the cooler months, and the easiest part to do on foot.

  3. 03

    Jungle Safari

A seven-level zoological park on the hillside, with a walk-through aviary. A separate ticket and a good half-day on its own.

  4. 04

    Laser and light show

Projected onto the statue after dark, most evenings. If you are staying the night, this is the reason to.

  5. 05

    Vadodara, on the way

Laxmi Vilas Palace is four times the size of Buckingham Palace and sits almost exactly on your route.

Good to know

  • Book statue tickets and the viewing gallery slot online before you travel; the counter queue at Kevadia is long and the gallery often sells out by midday.
  • Mondays are the maintenance day — most attractions at Kevadia are closed. Do not plan a Monday.
  • Six hours each way makes a same-day return punishing. One night at Kevadia or Vadodara turns it into a proper trip.
  • The Ekta Nursery and the cactus garden are free with the main ticket and most visitors miss them entirely.

FAQ

Rajkot to Statue of Unity — frequently asked questions

What is the Rajkot to Statue of Unity cab fare?

This one is quoted on request rather than listed — call or WhatsApp us with your dates and group size and we will give you a fixed all-inclusive price, covering fuel, driver allowance and taxes, with tolls and parking at actuals. For a family, an Ertiga or Innova Crysta is usually the better call on a six-hour drive.

How far is Kevadia from Rajkot?

330 km, about six hours by road via Bagodara and Vadodara. The great majority of it is four-lane highway.

Can this be done as a day trip?

Technically yes, at twelve hours of driving for a few hours at the site. We do not recommend it. Most families book two days and stay at Kevadia or break the journey at Vadodara.

Do you include the sightseeing at Kevadia?

The cab and driver stay with you for the day and take you between the statue, the safari park and the gardens — they are spread out and shuttle timings do not always suit. Entry tickets are yours to book; we will tell you which ones to get in advance.
